Paul and Ale

Paul's family winery is located in southern Burgundy in the heart of the Maconnais hills with the ideal solar exposition for viticulture. The vineyards are mostly planted in the village of Pierreclos with some plots of Chardonnay in Saint-Veran and Milly Lamartine. Paul's father, Jean-Luc works the vineyards according to “lute raisonnée”, or the thinking way. The winery is in the process of going organic, while staying focused on the the top priority, quality.

Maconnais wines are delicate and floral, with a balanced acidity and relatively low alcohol content. The dominant grapes are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gamay, the typical grape of Beaujolais (just over the hills). The climate is generally cool and wet, and their limestone soils produce complex, delicate wines that we love and we thing you will too.
